Arrest warrant

Who gave me an idea to go to the Ukraine? Mrs. Głębocka in Laszki. She had a damaged painting made by Matejko; great great grandfather’s father of Głębocki, who was presented for baptism by Jagiełło. During the first 5-year stage in the Ukraine, I was going to Warsaw from time to time.

[In 1883-1885, Wyczółkowski was coming to Warsaw; it can be confirmed by dates on his paintings: An Old Player, 1884; I saw it once, 1884; In the boudoir, 1885].

In 1885-1889, they were searching for me in papers. In “Wiek” published by Zalewski, there was a short message: “Who can give the address of Leon Wyczółkowski, a painter from Warsaw? An arrest warrant.”
