In Wyczółkowski’s studio, 1933
[Wyczółkowski’s studio in Poznań; October 1, 1933].
New things, subtle, delicate… Very interesting in color. Skies are made in pastels, but applied in such a way that they look like watercolor; trees are made with wax pencils, the course tone was done deliberately. How? – it’s a secret. These things, which I’ve now made, are designated to lithography. A new technique. Like an old roll etching, English, colorful. Shortcuts, simplifications. Sometimes it looks like watercolor. I was making a sprayed sky on the field; black and yellow tones … Expression in shortcuts is risky, but not boring.
